I like to try my best to take my time, in the mornings that I have a later start at uni or when I don’t have anything to do in that morning. I would like to reiterate that I do not do this every morning, it can be time consuming but you will no doubt feel the benefits after.
As soon as I wake up, I like to take the time to take a few deep breathes and stretch, rather than jump straight out of bed into my regular morning routine.
I will go wash my face and brush my teeth, like I do every other morning before I do anything else. It instantly makes me feel more awake, here are the only products I use in this part of the morning.
Personally I don’t use any cleansers or exfoliators in this time, I find that just washing my face in water is best for my personal self. Complicating my skincare only seems to make my skin break out.
I then go ahead and make breakfast, sometimes I just have a bagel or I go all out and cook some vegetables and eat scrambled chickpeas. (Recipe in the footer). I feel I have to eat first thing or I can’t concentrate.
Whilst i’m eating I will write in my AM/PM journal, this is a great way to learn gratitude and it puts me in a good mood for the day. I may also choose to read (I will link my Goodreads in the footer).
At the moment it’s been really hot in the UK, so I will do this on my balcony but usually I will stay inside and light some incense.
I may also choose to do a one tarot card reading, this really sets the tone of the day, I usually ask what the universe is hinting me to focus on for that week etc.
I also like to take this time to plan my day, I’m someone who enjoys writing lists as I often forget the things I need to do.
Once I have finished that I usually go to the gym, I try to go to the gym 6 times a week and I will sometimes go to yoga during the week.
I find physically going to a yoga class more personal, as they can help you if you are a beginner like I am. If you aren’t into the whole exercise thing,
I suggest going for a walk in nature. It is honestly so important to incorporate exercise into your weekly routine, it raises your endorphins and its keeps your body healthy.
Then once I’m back at home, I can then start my day. You may have noticed I haven’t mentioned going on any technology in this routine.
For these morning routines I try to stay off my phone, what you do in your morning sets you off for that day. If you are on your phone and see the latest drama on twitter, that isn’t going to be the best start.
Be conscious of your morning and know that you should take this time for yourself, before you go out for the day and deal with other peoples requests.
Spread love and positivity,
